Senior Session

Senior pictures are so much more than just year book photo. Often they are the last pictures of your child before he, or she leaves the nest and goes out to College, gets married, starts a new life of his, or her own. This is your chance as a parent to capture some memories of your child that you will look at when you miss their presence in your home.

For your future graduates, this is a chance to show what they have accomplished through their school years, what they love,  who they really are! This is why my goal is to capture all of that as accurately as possible by working hand and hand with you and your senior to create a fun memorable experience, and images you will cherish forever!

Location

The location is the first thing I want you to think about after booking with me! Think of the style of images you want... if you love sports, you might want to take pictures on a court or football field. If you love nature, we could go to a park with flowers, a field or find some cool river. If you want more of a urban feel, you might want to meet downtown Portland or in some location meaningful to you.

I am always open to new locations and will brainstorm some ideas with you to make sure you love the end result!

What should I wear / bring?

I will give you some basic guideline on what to wear and what not to wear before the shoot based on what you are looking for. I encourage you to wear clothing you love, that you are comfortable in, and that look flattering. Feel free to bring as many outfit as you would like for the shoot, that we may have lots to choose from.

Accessories are welcome as well as props. If you play an instrument, feel free to bring it, if you play sports, you may want to feature that in your pictures. Make sure to talk to me about everything you feel makes you, you! This is what will make the experience more personal for you! Also if you have a horse, can we please take pictures with your horse?!

What about hair and make-up?

A little fondation, blush and mascara can go a long way and  help your skin tone look a lot more uniform and natural for your pictures. They also make my editing job a lot smoother!!

Eye lashes extension can add a beautiful touch and make your eyes pop as well.

I would avoid any lip or eye color you wouldn't normally wear.

Make sure to use and bring your lip balm to keep your lips nice and smooth looking!

Nails are also very important as they will show on some of your pictures!! So avoid cracked nail polish.

Please do not do anything drastic to your hair or your face!

Think of it as a hot date with yourself! You want to look your best but not over do it either.

I would also recommend to not cut your hair or color it the week before your shoot.

Feel free to ask me any specific question!

When should I schedule my session?

I typically schedule sessions about 90 min before sunset time. I love senior sessions in the summer time!

BUT, based on what look you are looking for, you should talk to me now to find out when would be the best time.

For exemple, if you want to use a soccer field as your location, they tend to be crowded non stop during soccer season, so the off season might be best.

If you want flowers, summer and springs are the time to do it! If you want fall colors... anyways, you get the idea.

So contact me early on and we will find the time best fitted for your needs.

Keep in mind that most schools require that you submit your senior pictures between November and February.

So  if you want spring pictures, you will need to schedule your session a year before you graduate!!

Who can I bring?

Parents are welcome to join, or even a sibling, your best friend, or your boyfriend/girlfriend. Feel free to come with one or two people. I will be happy to put them to work, hold a reflector, carry your clothes and props around, get them to make you laugh for some candid shots, or even possibly jump in on a couple pictures with you!

How much editing do you do?

I love editing pictures! I usually spend about 8+ hours per session on editing. I use both Lightroom and Photoshop on each image. I carefully adjust colors, remove  blemishes on the skin, remove dark circles, sharpen the eyes, whiten the teeth if needed, remove distracting things in the background such as unwanted guests etc. If you want something specific to be removed or adjusted, let me know and I will try to make it happen!

When and how do you deliver my images?

You will receive all your edited images in an online gallery on my website within 2 weeks of your shoot (maybe less during the slower season). If your deadline is cutting it short, just let me know and I will do my best to get your images to you on time.

I do not offer prints currently but will release all printing rights to you which means that you will be able to download your pictures in high resolution and print anywhere you would like, and/or post on social media. I will be offering prints in the near future. So stay tuned!
