Couple Session

A client recently said to me during his couple's session "couples with problems should just book a session with you, this is better than couple's therapy!"

My philosophy is that if you are not having fun, flirting with each other, laughing with each other, and feeling more in love after your session than you did before, then I am doing something wrong!

I know, most men aren't super into getting their picture taken (except for my husband...) and sometimes need to be bribed a little... So you might want to plan a date around it, go to their favorite restaurant afterward or whatever will motive him... but honestly, they will quickly change their mind as they realize this is a really good way to spend a great time with you as they earn major brownie points!

Location

You can choose your location, especially if you already have a spot that is meaningful to your relationship!

I usually prefer to shoot outdoors, in a park with nice romantic backgrounds: trees, rivers, bridges...

I might require a location fee, if driving time from Sherwood exceeds 30 min each way (such as the beach, or the Gorge) but I am always open to new adventures!

Let me know ahead of time as I like to be able to check a location prior to your session to check lighting and potential background for your pictures.

What should I wear / bring?

Finding the right thing to wear always seem like the most stressful part for me! And yet, if you put a little effort into it, your pictures will look a million times better!!

Whatever you end up choosing, make sure to lay out your outfits next to each other, and see if the colors and pattern look good together.

Don't hesitate to text me some pictures of the clothes you are thinking of wearing for feed-backs.

But here is a few tips for you:

Mixing colors and patterns is great! Avoid logos and distracting designs! Long sleeves are usually better. Avoid shorts. Make sure you dress at the same level (casual, semi formal or formal). Wear clothes you are confortable in. Avoid see-through fabrics.

Feel free to bring a Jacket / cardigan or accessories.

Never under-estimate the power of spandex shape-wear! (no joke, I wear those every time I get my family's pictures taken... to keep those love handles in check!)

Shoes are very important as well, I recommend to avoid sport shoes, or flashy colors.

What about hair and make-up?

A little fondation, blush and mascara can go a long way and  help your skin tone look a lot more uniform and natural for your pictures. They also make my editing job a lot smoother!!

Eye lashes extension can add a beautiful touch and make your eyes pop as well.

I would avoid any lip or eye color you wouldn't normally wear.

Nails are also very important as they will show on some of your pictures!! (Especially for engagement photos!!)

So avoid cracked nail polish.

Please do not do anything drastic to your hair or your face!

Think of it as a hot date! You want to look your best but not over do it either.

I would also recommend to not cut your hair or color it the week before your shoot.

Feel free to ask me any specific question!

When should I schedule my session?

Couple sessions are a great way to celebrate or capture a special mile stone in your relationship, an anniversary, or go on a super fun date!

There is no wrong time to capture the love you have for each other!

You may even want a "surprise engagement" session to capture fully this life changing moment...

If you need pictures for a wedding announcement, make sure to schedule your session a few months before the wedding to have time to send your announcements on time.

I usually schedule my session 2 to 1.5 hours before sunset time for better lighting.

How much editing do you do?

I love editing pictures! I usually spend about 6+ hours per session on editing. I use both Lightroom and Photoshop on each image. I carefully adjust colors, remove  blemishes on the skin, remove dark circles, sharpen the eyes, whiten the teeth if needed, remove distracting things in the background such as unwanted guests etc. If you want something specific to be removed or adjusted, let me know and I will try to make it happen!

When and how do you deliver my images?

You will receive all your edited images in an online gallery on my website within 2 weeks of your shoot (maybe less during the slower season). If you have a deadline, just let me know and I will do my best to get your images to you on time.

I do not offer prints currently but will release all printing rights to you which means that you will be able to download your pictures in high resolution and print anywhere you would like, and/or post on social media. I will be offering prints in the near future. So stay tuned!
